Le Groupe Maurice launches its advent calendar contest

November is the ideal time to make preparations for Christmas. This year, Le Groupe Maurice decided to organize a creative event for all residents: the Advent Calendar Contest!
Advent calendar: Beautiful and ingenious creations
It feels great to get into the Christmas spirit early, whether you’re decorating your tree, eating gingerbread cookies, buying presents or making all different kinds of decorations and ornaments. So this holiday season, Le Groupe Maurice decided to launch a new Creativia initiative to kindle the residents’ creativity.
During the months of October and November, participants assembled in small groups to create and decorate fantastic Advent calendars inspired by their imagination. A $100 gift card for Chocolats Favoris awaited each winning group of residents.
From November 23 to 29, the big community on Facebook had the chance to vote for a winner. The iVVi residence’s calendar got the most “likes” and received the people’s choice award! Congratulations to Ms. Brisebois, Ms. Turcotte, Ms. Lucente, Mr. and Mrs. Penelle, Mr. Desrochers, Ms. Guilbault, Ms. Panneton, Ms. Fleury, Ms. Lavoie, Ms. Forman, Ms. Fortier and Ms. Garant!
Some residences also stood out for their ingenious creations. A special mention goes out to Mr. and Mrs. Leclerc, Mr. Pouli, Mr. and Mrs. Boudreau, Ms. D’Amours, Ms. Moreau, Mr. and Mrs. Caron, Ms. Gingras, Ms. Pomerlo, Ms. Larochelle, Ms. Saindon and Ms. Desaulniers from Quartier Sud, as well as Ms. Barde, Ms. Laflamme, Ms. Latulippe, Ms. Grenier, Ms. Lacroix, Ms. Veilleux, Ms. Lemelin, Ms. Labre, Ms. Houde, Ms. Canuel, Ms. Trépanier and Ms. Ouellet from Margo, who came in 2nd and 3rd place respectively!
Finally, an internal committee composed of Aude Daily and John Conway (recreation advisors) and Joëlle Richard (Director of Customer Experience) awarded the team from L’Avantage for their sublime calendar! A big “bravo” goes out to Ms. Gagnon, Ms. Montcalm, Ms. Thibert, Ms. Charron, Ms. Guertin, Ms. Clouette, Ms. Auger and Ms. Valiquette for winning the jury’s choice award!

Creative activities for every taste
With so many gorgeous and inventive calendars, choosing a winner was no easy task. Le Groupe Maurice regularly encourages creative activities for its residents and this isn’t its first Créativia initiative. A carnival mask contest was held earlier this year and the results were quite simply fantastic!
