Thank you again and again. For yesterday, today and tomorrow.
I normally use this blog to share my thoughts with you regarding the issues we face at Le Groupe Maurice, or what’s happening in the field of Private Seniors’ Residences (PSR) or society in general. Today however, I wish to reserve this platform to express myself differently; perhaps more simply, but just as sincerely. So please join me in sending out a heartfelt gratitude and a thousand thank yous during National Nurses Month.
Nurses, caregivers and all healthcare professionals have been invaluable to us for a very long time. And as we can all attest to, especially over these past three years, their presence on the front lines has been vital to our well-being. Armed with compassion and courage, they rub shoulders with our suffering on a daily basis, oftentimes putting their own health at risk. The month of May brings with it the rejuvenation of nature; but it also serves to shed light on those who, despite everything, manage to ease the pain and burden of our ills.
How would we manage without them?
As you’re beginning to see, I simply couldn’t use this blog other than to honour their generosity, heroism and inherent desire to help others. Whether in a hospital, clinic, PSR or CHSLD, these individuals care for the most vulnerable, most grave and most remarkable of human beings. It is important for all of us to remember that paying tribute to our healthcare workers is essential – not only this month, but every month.
So, over the next few weeks, let's do our best to offer a sincere thank you to a special breed, whose vocation is dedicated to healing and helping us. Being a healthcare worker is a way of life, a way of being and thinking. These individuals live their jobs day and night, often beyond working hours – and our lives are literally in their hands! What we feel, they feel with us… sometimes over a long period of time. On many occasions, they bring their days home with them; days marked by miraculous recoveries or painful deaths. The very least we can do then, is express our sincere gratitude to these heroes, who despite their innate dedication and courage, still need to know how much they are appreciated. So let’s do our best to make them smile!
Dearest nurses, caregivers and all healthcare professionals… I personally thank you for the bravely you carry on your shoulders and within you. I also thank you for your strength and resilience. I am eternally grateful for all that you have done for us yesterday, all that you are doing for us today, and all that I know you will do for us tomorrow. THANK YOU!
