Cornelius, the imposing seniors’ residence by Le Groupe Maurice centrally located in Montreal at the corner of Van Horne and Darlington avenues, officially opened its doors on June 1. Residents can now get settled in at their new urban oasis and enjoy an active and fulfilling retirement experience.

In a sign of good things to come, the Cornelius seniors’ residence in Montreal officially opened its doors on a bright sunny day. The Cornelius team, headed by General Manager Olivier Tibika, was there to welcome residents with grace and smiles.

“The entire team couldn’t wait to welcome the residents to their new home. Cornelius is a magnificent complex that offers a whole range of services that everyone can access without having to step outside. With the shopping centre directly accessible via the same building, residents will have the chance to shop as they please and interact with the community. I already have several projects in mind. The residents of Cornelius will get to enjoy an amazing and unique living environment. We truly can’t wait to welcome them!”

An oasis of tranquility in the city

Residents will also enjoy the many common areas, which are designed to be friendly and interactive spaces. The goal is to encourage socialization, relaxation and recreation with neighbours or individually. Among other amenities, residents will have access to an indoor pool with spa and sauna, a light therapy beach, pool tables, a fitness room, a welcoming dining room with table service and several lounges for relaxing and socializing with friends. Offering this variety of welcoming spaces for socialization is something Luc Maurice is very passionate about: “What I love is seeing people interact. It’s often said that in order to live a long, healthy and happy life, you need to eat well and be active, but it’s also important to socialize.”

A vibrant and verdant neighbourhood

Without a doubt, one of the biggest perks of living at the elegant Cornelius residential complex is being able to access the Wilderton Centre and its variety of shopping options without having to exit the building. Among other options, it offers a Metro grocery store, a Pharmaprix, an SAQ and a variety of restaurants and shops. Even on frigid winter days, residents will be able to shop in comfort for ingredients for their favourite recipe or a good wine to accompany their meals.

Situated near public transportation and major roads, the residence is very conveniently located in a dynamic neighbourhood surrounded by green spaces. It’s an undeniable advantage for all the residents!

Welcome home!

The residential complex’s 288 apartments, which range from studios to 5½, are already popular with the newly arrived residents. As soon as they took their first steps inside their new homes, they were impressed by what awaited them: “Look at these views!” they exclaimed as they admired the generous windows that stretch from wall to wall in their apartments. You could feel the excitement in the air about the infinite possibilities that retirement at Cornelius opens up for them. Every detail at the residence was designed with the preferences of Montreal’s seniors in mind.
