{"id":10379,"date":"2022-03-24T15:40:48","date_gmt":"2022-03-24T19:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.legroupemaurice.com\/?p=10379"},"modified":"2025-03-13T10:29:41","modified_gmt":"2025-03-13T14:29:41","slug":"general-taos-chicken-with-maple-syrup","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.legroupemaurice.com\/en\/articles\/general-taos-chicken-with-maple-syrup\/","title":{"rendered":"General tao\u2019s chicken with maple syrup"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>General Tao\u2019s Chicken with Maple Syrup<\/h2>\n<h2>INGREDIENTS (serves 4)<\/h2>\n<p><strong>For the chicken<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>2\u00a0lb. boneless chicken breast, cut into small cubes<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup cornstarch<\/li>\n<li>1\u00a0tsp. salt<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup vegetable oil<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For the sauce<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>60\u00a0ml white vinegar<\/li>\n<li>125\u00a0ml sugar<\/li>\n<li>1\/2 cup maple syrup<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 cup soy sauce<\/li>\n<li>15\u00a0ml oyster sauce<\/li>\n<li>60\u00a0ml water<\/li>\n<li>2 Tbsp. cornstarch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>For the stir-fry<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 red pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 yellow pepper<\/li>\n<li>1 red onion<\/li>\n<li>2 zucchini<\/li>\n<li>3 green onions, sliced on the diagonal<\/li>\n<li>Sesame seeds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<h2>DIRECTIONS<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Coat the chicken cubes with cornstarch.<\/li>\n<li>In a skillet, heat the oil over high heat and add the chicken.<\/li>\n<li>Fry for about 10 minutes, stirring often, or until the chicken is golden on the outside and no longer pink in the middle. Remove the chicken from the heat.<\/li>\n<li>In a saucepan, combine the vinegar, sugar, oyster sauce, soy sauce, maple syrup and water. Bring to a boil and reduce for one minute.<\/li>\n<li>Meanwhile, in a bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in water and stir into the saucepan.<\/li>\n<li>Cook for about 2 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.<\/li>\n<li>Cut the peppers and onions into large cubes and slice the zucchini. Stir-fry in a skillet.<\/li>\n<li>Add the chicken and the sauce.
