RQRA Gala: Le Groupe Maurice Shines!
On October 23, the Regroupement québécois des résidences pour aînés (RQRA) held its annual gala at the Palais des congrès de Montréal, presenting awards that highlighted the achievements of residences and employees across the industry. Le Groupe Maurice was proud to have several finalists among its ranks, including a Living Environment Manager who took home the “Coup de cœur du jury” (Jury’s Choice Award).
A memorable RQRA congress
The RQRA gala wraps up two days of conference activities each year, showcasing inspiring industry practices and initiatives at its renowned awards ceremony. The event is also an opportunity for managers, owners or employees of seniors’ residences to gather, connect and celebrate after seeing some of their projects recognized during the presentation of the various Prix Reconnaissance awards at the gala.
These awards, which highlight excellence, innovation and dedication in Quebec’s private seniors’ residences, fall into four categories: the Prix Culinaire (quality cuisine), the Prix Distinction (outstanding projects), the Prix Ambassadeur (engaged employees and inspiring managers) and the Prix Partenaire (trusted suppliers).
Finalists… and a winner!
Among the finalists at the gala, Le Groupe Maurice counted four of its employees or residences:
- Prix Ambassadeur – Engagement exceptionnel (Ambassador Award – Outstanding Dedication): Dominique Miljour, Living Environment Manager at Le Félix and Gabriel Brien-Bérard, Living Environment Manager at Le Cavalier
- Prix Distinction – Implication sociale (Distinction Award – Social Engagement): Boréa, for its Maternity Café project
- Prix Distinction – Environnement (Distinction Award – Environment): Les Jardins Millen, for its residual materials management initiative (also implemented in several other Le Groupe Maurice residences as part of the company’s ESG strategy)
The gala concluded with Dominique Miljour, Living Environment Manager at Le Félix, being honoured with the prestigious “Coup de cœur du jury” (Jury’s Choice Award). This award is presented to one of the finalists who impressed the judges with their commitment and humanity.
“We are thrilled, though not at all surprised, to see Dominique recognized at the gala! Her initiative, passion and generosity shone through when she went above and beyond to organize the wedding of a resident couple in love, even though the man was at the end of his life. It was an unforgettable moment that brought joy to Le Félix this year for both staff and residents,” said Olivier Michaud, General Manager of Le Félix.
This deeply altruistic initiative perfectly reflects the values lived every day in our residences. The moving testimony shared by Dominique Miljour only heightened Le Groupe Maurice’s pride in the people who work within the organization.
Congratulations to Dominique, as well as to all RQRA gala nominees, for the dedication they demonstrate every day in seniors’ residences, making each living environment a great place to live and work.
