Summer is BBQ season at the residences
Summer is here! That means Le Groupe Maurice’s chefs have brought out the barbecues to prepare a selection of unique and delicious local products for our residents to enjoy.
What’s summer without barbecue? Le Groupe Maurice definitely wouldn’t want to miss out on this summer tradition. That’s why the chefs at our residences will be putting something new on the grill every week until the end of August! As usual, made-in-Quebec products will be featured on the menu.
And that’s not all! Each BBQ event will offer a unique opportunity to discover rare and rewarding flavours.
To deliver this unique culinary experience, Le Groupe Maurice teamed up with several renowned partners. In partnership with the famous and historical butcher La Maison du Rôti in Montreal, Le Groupe Maurice continues to meet its commitment to local producers.
Residents will get to savour a variety of meat dishes including wild game burger, duck burger, elk sausage, wild boar and orange chicken as part of a selection chosen specifically for Le Groupe Maurice.
“We’re very proud of our partnership with La Maison du Rôti. Not only are we continuing to offer high-quality products while supporting local producers, residents will also get to discover new flavours that I’m sure they’ll love! The chefs are also thrilled to work on innovative recipes with these products. And who doesn’t love a nicely grilled piece of meat on the barbecue?” says Maurice Chartrand, Food Service Manager at the head office.
Did you know that made-in-Quebec products account for 80% of the purchases of food used by Le Groupe Maurice’s chefs? It’s a choice guided by our Fresh Traditions philosophy: to serve delicious meals made with fresh, seasonal local products at our residences. Le Groupe Maurice has been working with more and more small local producers like The Sausage Guys in the Eastern Townships and Nutrifrance in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, which replaced Quaker brand American products. These are just a few examples of the major efforts being undertaken at head office and the residences to promote Quebec products.
