Every summer, the Berliner Philharmoniker hosts an open-air concert at the Waldbühne to celebrate season’s end. In 2025, Gustavo Dudamel conducts a program spanning the Americas, with works from Mexico, Venezuela, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Grammy-winning bass-baritone Ryan Speedo Green performs Copland’s Old American Songs, and the evening ends with Bernstein’s vibrant West Side Story music.

In 1910, young Adolf Hitler migrates to the cultural beacon of Vienna, determined to conquer the world as a famous painter. Upon his arrival, he moves into a hostel occupied by Schlomo, an elderly Jewish Bible salesman who takes the brash and arrogant artist under his wing. But when Hitler is callously rejected by the Academy of Fine Arts, Schlomo attempts to save his increasingly radical and suicidal disciple by pushing him towards a career in politics a fateful and ironic decision that will forever impact the course of human history.
