Cine-club: Route 66, le Mythe du Rêve Américain
C’est une vieille route qui semble abandonnée, elle traverse l’Amérique du Nord de Chicago à Los Angeles. Pour bien des personnes, elle est synonyme de nostalgie, de cette époque de la ruée vers l’or et de la conquête de l’Ouest. Du blues de Chicago au rock californien en passant par le jazz du Missouri, elle a vu naître tant d’influences musicales. Christian vous convie à un véritable voyage dans l’Amérique d’hier, avec ses vestiges du Far West, où l’on s’attendrait presque à voir surgir Indiens et cowboys.
Mais la route 66, c’est aussi l’histoire de ces paysans qui, il y a moins de 100 ans, durent quitter leurs terres pour sur vivre, comme Steinbeck le raconte si bien dans son roman Les raisins de la colère. Aujourd’hui, des canyons désertiques aux plages californiennes, la route 66 se réinvente au fil des témoignages de celles et ceux qui y sont attachés. Ils nous montrent cette vieille Cadillac rouillée et ces motels de villes fantômes, mais aussi les oeuvres incroyables que les artistes ont parsemées dans le désert, ou encore le style cuir et tatouages qu’ils arborent fièrement.
Grand explorateur des espaces sauvages, Christian Vérot, caméra à l’épaule, partage sa passion depuis plus de trente ans. Aujourd’hui, il est aussi guide de randonnées dans les canyons d’Amérique du Nord.
