Cine-Club: The Chamber Orchestra of Europe
Join the renowned Chamber Orchestra of Europe and virtuoso pianist Fazıl Say for a concert broadcast live from the magnificent Esterházy Palace in Austria! The ensemble performs works by Haydn (who himself resided at the palace for many years), Mozart, Beethoven, and Fazıl Say.
The evening opens with Haydn’s Symphony No. 96, “The Miracle,” one of his celebrated London Symphonies. Its nickname comes from a chandelier that famously fell during the premiere—fortunately without causing any injuries. (Historians now believe the incident may actually have occurred during Symphony No. 102, but the name has remained!)
Next, Fazıl Say takes the stage to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 21, a joyful and poetic masterpiece, before presenting one of his own compositions: Yürüyen Köşk (“The Walking Mansion”), heard here in its version for piano and string orchestra.
To conclude the evening, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe performs Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, “Pastoral,” a beloved masterpiece inspired by the beauty and serenity of nature.

Outdoor petanque
Pétanque is a friendly game of skill played outdoors on a gravel or sandy surface. Players, in teams, throw metal balls toward a small wooden target ball called the “cochonnet,” aiming to get as close to it as possible. Each throw requires precision and strategy, whether gently placing a ball or shooting to move an opponent’s. Easy to learn and suitable for all ages, pétanque encourages social interaction, relaxation, and a sense of camaraderie. It’s a simple, welcoming activity that brings people together and helps strengthen community bonds.
