Le Cavalier residence comes out a winner at LaSalle’s S.O.U.P. Festival
The 5th edition of LaSalle’s S.O.U.P. Festival was held on September 21 at Des Rapides Park. Le Groupe Maurice residence Le Cavalier took home the top prize in the Jury’s Choice category.
More than thirty restaurants, companies and organizations took part in this year’s annual S.O.U.P. (Symbol of Openness and Union of People) Festival in LaSalle, including Le Groupe Maurice’s very own Le Cavalier residence. Their mission: to impress visitors with free samples of soup from all around the world. It was truly a festival of flavours!
Patrick Delisle, sous-chef at Le Cavalier, accompanied by residents Denise Arsenault, Jeannine Duchesne, Claude Plaisance, and Lise and Guy Therrien, revisited a seasonal recipe that was sure to delight the palate: butternut squash soup with maple bacon and a hint of parmesan cheese.
After the tasting, the awards!
Patrick Delisle and the whole delegation from Le Cavalier were extremely proud to be named winners of the top jury prize, the Louche d’Or (golden ladle) award, for their smooth and delicious creation. The jury included acclaimed nutritionist Isabelle Huot and renowned chef Thierry Daraise.
Prior to the awards ceremony, festival-goers were treated to dance performances from around the world, concerts and a kids’ drawing contest. It was a great opportunity to experience different flavours and cultures in a friendly and festive setting.
